Tasting notes: The Tenuta San Francesco Costa d'Amalfi Tramonti Rosato is produced from Aglianico and Piedirosso grapes from vineyards 300-500 meters above sea-level, this is a fresh, supple and savory Rosato that will transport you to the Amalfi coast.
Estate History: The area of Tramonti is a town and comune inside the region of Salerno specifically in the territory of the Amalfi Coast. This is an extraordinary region for winegrowers due to steep-sloped terraced lands that are between 200 and 600 meters above sea level. In this area, pergola-trained vines are commonly used for the older vineyards. In 2004, four local vinegrowers Gaetano, Generoso Bove, Vincenzo D’Avino, and Luigi Giordano established Tenuta San Francesco with the desire to revive the long-standing viticultural tradition of the region and their family past. Out of 14 hectares of property owned 8 are covered by both over 100 years old and pre-phylloxera vines. Here native grapes like Falanghina, Biancolella, Ginestra, Tintore, and Pepella grow along with other super obscure and local varietals. These 4 gentlemen pay great attention to the preservation and the protection of the environment, in accordance with the Regional Plans for the reduction of the use of phytochemistry; they use only ancient and natural techniques.
