Tasting Notes: With this third vintage of Langhe Nebbiolo, Alessandro Salvano has officially followed in the footsteps of his vintner grandparents. After graduating from Alba’s Scoula Enologica, he trained in estates across the Barolo and Barbaresco zones, including a three year stint at Borgogno. In 2019, he began making his own wine, sourced from his uncle’s vineyards to the east of Barolo’s Serralunga zone. With each vintage, he has gained valuable knowledge, experience, and wisdom. His current vintage is among the Langhe’s most unique expressions of Nebbiolo. He uses whole clusters of fruit, similar in style to Beaujolais. This softens Nebbiolo’s harsh tannins and enhances its pretty notes of red cherry, raspberry, and clove.
