Tasting Notes: The Venturini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Campo Masua 2012 is a rich, full-bodied red wine offering complex aromas of black and red fruits, leather, and spice, with hints of raisins, dates, and plum. The palate is smooth yet structured by firm tannins, delivering concentrated flavors of red cherry and wild berry with a balanced and enduring finish. This powerful wine, with its notable 16.5% alcohol content, benefits from the aformentioned complexity, making it an excellent pairing for hearty dishes and mature cheeses.
Estate History: Azienda Agricola Venturini is a family-owned estate located in San Floriano, within the historic Valpolicella Classica region of Verona, Italy. The winery was established in 1963 and has grown through the hard work and dedication of three generations, starting with grandfather Antonio, who passed the business to his son Massimino. Today, Massimino's children manage the operations: Daniele oversees winemaking, Mirco manages the 12 hectares of vineyards, and Giuseppina handles the business aspects. The estate is known for exclusively using its own grapes, which are grown on terraced, south-west facing hillsides supported by traditional stone walls called "marogne". This deep connection to their land and traditional winemaking methods underscores the quality and character of their Amarone, Recioto, and Valpolicella wines.
