Tasting Notes: The David Sterza Amarone della Valpolicella Classico delivers a powerful and intense taste experience, opening with rich aromas of sweet dark raspberries, plum, cherry, and subtle notes of chili chocolate, vanilla, and spice. On the full-bodied palate, it presents layers of concentrated ripe black cherry, raisin, licorice, and almond flavors, framed by dusty, supple tannins and a refreshing acidity that provides balance. The wine is elegant and warm with a velvety mouthfeel and an incredibly long, persistent finish that lingers with hints of coffee and dark chocolate.

Estate History: The David Sterza farm has a long-standing tradition of grape cultivation for family use, but it was officially established as a commercial winery in 1998. David's cousin and partner, Paolo Mascanzoni, recognized the high quality of the grapes produced in their vineyards and strongly encouraged David to produce his own wine rather than selling the fruit to other cellars. Enthusiastic about the potential, David founded the winery with the core philosophy of exalting the unique and inimitable territoriality of the Valpolicella region, focusing on traditional winemaking methods like the appassimento process to create powerful and complex Amarones and Ripassos. The grapes for their wines are manually harvested from the Sterza farm in the village of Casterna, located at the foothills of the Lessini mountains.
