Tasting Notes: Cristina Prandi is an up-and-coming female winemaker in Barolo, working with two precious hectares of vines—one in the historic Paiagallo cru and the other in La Morra, where vines range from 40 to 60 years old and sit at 1,000 feet above sea level. Her approach combines modern winemaking techniques with a non-interventionist philosophy, allowing each site to speak clearly while maintaining the integrity of classic Barolo style. Production is limited to 1000 bottles.

Estate History: The Prandi family's winemaking history dates back to 1864, when Teobaldo Prandi founded his winery in Piazza Cabutto, in the heart of Barolo. For generations, the estate was passed down according to tradition—always to the eldest son—ensuring the continuity of the family’s craft.
In 1987, following the passing of Massimo Prandi, the responsibility fell to his son, Giuseppe Prandi. At the time, Giuseppe was living in England, pursuing his passion for art and painting, but he ultimately returned to Barolo to preserve the family’s winemaking heritage. However, in the years that followed, he ceased bottling wines, and with that, the Prandi name faded from the market.
Cristina began working alongside Giuseppe in 2015, learning the craft first hand. Determined to restore her family's legacy, she launched her own label in 2019, at just 20 years old, reviving the Prandi name and bringing it into a new era of Barolo winemaking.
