Tasting Notes: Produced from single vineyard Grechetto di Todi grapes and aged 12 months in amphora, Fiorfiore is notable for its sleek texture and generous expression of pineapple, golden apple, wild flowers, and hints of white spice. The fullness lends the wine an extensive aging capacity giving it a great drinking window.

Estate History: Nestled in the picturesque rolling hills near Todi, Cantina Roccafiore spans 15 hectares (almost 40 acres) of lush vineyards. The Baccarelli family, led by father and son, acquired this enchanting property in 1999. They planted native Grechetto and Sangiovese alongside select parcels of Moscato Giallo, Sagrantino, and Montepulciano, producing their first vintage in 2005. They chose the VCR207 clone of Sangiovese, indigenous to Todi and akin to the renowned Brunello clone from Montalcino, known for yielding wines of exceptional elegance and finesse.
With roots in the energy sector, the Baccarellis prioritized sustainability from the start. They built a renewable energy facility, employed organic fuels for their tractors, and embraced organic farming practices. Luca Baccarelli, the younger member of the family, advocates for this eco-friendly approach, believing it enhances soil richness, reduces vine diseases, and promotes healthier grape production.
Their vineyards, trained using the Guyot system on terraced hillsides, thrive in whitish clay soils rich in limestone and chalk, all facing Southeast to benefit from the fresh mountain breezes. With 6,500 vines per hectare, mainly from massal selection, they achieve yields of 85 quintals per hectare (around 3.5 tons per acre). The winemaking process features indigenous yeast fermentations and exclusively estate-grown fruit.
