Tasting Notes: The 2022 Tignanello is powerfully aromatic, hedonistic, dense and delicious. This Tuscan classic has all the elements nicely balanced, showing great energy and a dynamic and savory finish.
Estate History: Tignanello is a wine that needs no introduction to most wine lovers. Created by the Antinori family in the 1970’s - 1971 was the inaugural release - this was the first time Sangiovese was aged in the small ‘barrique’ barrels. This was a revolution in a bottle, as this area of Tuscan was steeped in tradition and the idea of wood aging and blending with international grapes caused an uproar at the time.
