Tasting Notes: The Testalonga Bianco is sourced from thirty yearl old Vermentino vines planted over clay and limestone amongst olive groves in Dolceaqua, Liguria along the Italian coast. It spends four days on skins and is aged in old casks. An old-school Mediterranean white, where the use of skins and a little oxygen provide depth, grip and a saline complexity. Reflecting the freshness of the vintage, this is crunchy and full of citrus and some almond notes, begging for fresh fish or pesto pasta.
Estate History: Antonio Perrino of Testalonga is arguably the top producer of this tiny appellation. All winemakers in Dolceacqua have tiny production as a result of the small parcels of steeply terraced vineyards. His Rossese is all in the Arcagna vineyard, considered one of the best sites in the appellation. Less than 1ha in size!
