Tasting Notes: Lincontro Bianco originates from a blend of three distinct harvests representing varying degrees of ripeness. The wine is crafted through three diverse techniques—direct pressing, whole bunch fermentation, and whole grain fermentation—while the grapes are sourced from the Montegreco and Monteverde vineyards featuring Vermentino, Trebbiano Rosso, and Moscato varieties. The farming practices adhere to biodynamic principles, while fermentation transpires in steel tanks and maturation takes place in oak barrels. The wine is completely unfiltered with distinctive aromas of fresh grass, white pepper, and white peach. On the palate, it is well structured with notes of stone fruit, wild herbs, and a hint of hazelnut with a finish comprising mineral notes of wet stone and subtle tannins from the skin contact.
Estate History: Terra di Confine commenced its journey in 2020 under the guidance of Giulia Marangon, a highly skilled and significantly experienced oenologist and vintner, and her partner Rachele Baldini. The name Terra di Confine translates to borderlands, symbolizing the convergence of the shared visions of its founders and honoring their respective origins in Liguria and Tuscany.
Giulia and Rachele oversee two vineyards located in the hilly province of Massa Carrara. Spanning 40 to 80 years old, these vineyards are situated between the striking scenery of the visible Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea and cultivated in accordance with traditional methods. Common varieties include Vermentino, Albarola, Moscato Giallo, pink Trebbiano, Malvasia, Vermentino Nero, Syrah, Sangiovese, Bonamico, and Barbarossa.
