Tasting Notes: The high standards of Luca Roagna really come through in the Langhe Rosso, a wine made from the 'younger' vines in Pira in Castiglione Falletto (Barolo) and in Paje in Barbaresco. Most vines are 20-25 years old.. Many producers would craft a Barolo and a Barbaresco from these parcels, but not Luca. The wine dances on the palate, light -for a Nebbiolo - and energetic, a great entry to exploring the house winemaking style.
Estate History: The Roagna estate is a historic, family-owned winery deeply rooted in the Barbaresco region of Piedmont, with a lineage of winemaking spanning five generations. They are renowned for their traditional approach to viticulture and vinification, focusing on single-vineyard expressions and long aging periods in large, neutral oak botti. Currently run by Luca Roagna, the estate is dedicated to organic practices and preserving local biodiversity, meticulously crafting wines that express the unique character of their specific crus with minimal intervention.
