Tasting Notes: With flavors of savory peaches, fresh chamomile, orchard fruit and hints of white pepper the Sperino Rosa del Rosa is a very engaging rosato. The balanced palate is both silky and bright with a vibrant acidity calling for food. The blend of the Sperino Rosa del Rosa is 85% Nebbiolo and 15 % Vespolina grown in the Ormeggio, Castagnola and Belvedere vineyards in Lessona in the Orolungo region of the Alto-Piemonte. They are also grown in the 45–90-year-old Madonna degli Angeli vineyard in Brusnengo in the Forte. In Lessona, soils comprise marine sands from the Pliocene period on igneous rock, mixed with more recent glacial sediment. The soil is acid, rich in minerals and trace elements including iron, manganese, aluminum, and zinc. Soils in the Madonna degli Angeli vineyard are composed of pebbles on a base of igneous rock which is close to the surface and veined with clay.
