Tasting Notes: The dark, brooding and spicy Polvanera Primitivo 14 (the 14 is for the average abv of the wine) is classic Primitivo, with velvety tannins and a long, rich finish.
Estate History: In 2002, the Polvanera winery was founded by owner and winemaker Filippo Cassano. Focusing exclusively on native Puglian grapes, the winery uses modern techniques to produce wines that showcase classic flavors of the grapes and land. Vines are farmed organically, fermentations are carried out only in steel tanks, barrels are never used. Using only steel and bottle for aging vessels allow the wines to retain the character of their terroir without the manipulation or oxidation that oak can impart.
