Tasting Notes: The Montecariano Valpolicella Ripasso opens with notes of smoke, wet earth, peppercorn, blackberry, rhubarb and currant. Fleshy on the palate with fine tannins. Dry dark fruit on the finish with hints of minerality.
Estate History: The Montecariano winery is situated in San Pietro in Cariano within the historic Valpolicella region. The estate was formerly owned by archaeologist Andrea Monga and has been operated by Mariella Gini and her sons since 1992, focusing on integrated production methods.
