Tasting Notes: The Luce della Vite Lucente displays an intense ruby-red color and offers an aromatic profile rich in dark fruit, specifically blackberries, currants, and plums, complemented by delicate hints of violet and toasted spices like chocolate and cedar. On the palate, this wine is supple and medium-to-full-bodied, characterized by velvety-smooth tannins that frame a core of ripe fruit. It finishes with excellent persistence and a balanced, fresh quality that makes it approachable and elegant.
Estate History: The Luce della Vite estate, situated in the Montalcino area of Tuscany, was founded in 1993 as a joint venture between two iconic figures in the wine world: Vittorio Frescobaldi of the Marchesi de' Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi of the Mondavi family. Their shared vision was to produce exceptional wines by blending the traditional Sangiovese grape with the international variety Merlot, pioneering a new style of "Super Tuscan" in the region. The project eventually became solely owned by the Frescobaldi family in 2005. Lucente serves as the estate's second wine, offering an accessible expression of the unique Tuscan terroir while sharing the same commitment to quality as the flagship Luce wine.
