Tasting Notes: The Halara Rosso is 100% Parpato from north facing vines planted over calcareous soils. It's light and ethereal with a pronounced sea spray character overlaid with ripe black fruits, sun-dried Mediterranean herbs and an earthly exotic spice element.
Estate History: Halara is of collaboration of two Sicilian winemakers working to bring back forgotten grape varieties native to the Masala area of Sicily. Nino Barraco of Barraco and Corrado Dotori of La Distesa are working with 2 hectares of Parpato and Catarratto vines that are around 35 years old, making a rosato and rosso with minimal intervention allowing the terroir of windswept ocean region to fully express itself.
