Tasting Notes: The 2020 Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Tre Tine is a traditional blend from the Ravera, Cannubi San Lorenzo, and Le Coste crus, offering a more approachable and balanced expression in its youth than previous vintages, without sacrificing its age-worthiness. On the nose, it is lifted and aromatic, with a generous mix of red fruit, like Morello cherry and strawberry, along with delicate floral and herbal tones, anise, and mineral notes. The palate is polished and silky, showing a lovely freshness and roundness for the vintage, with fine-grained tannins providing gentle support for the ripe fruit and savory herbal character. Balanced and expressive even when young, it also promises complexity and pleasure with further bottle aging.
Estate History: Beppe Rinaldi took over the estate in 1983 from his father Guiseppe and slowly became noticed as one of the great old-school 'Barolistas' of the Langhe. After his passing in 2018, his daughters Marta & Carlotta fully took over. Marta had been responsible for the winemaking since the 2010 vintage, and with this new era, an even higher level of quality has emerged, marking G. Rinaldi as an absolute pinnacle of winemaking in the Langhe.
