Tasting Notes: The Divella Gussago Blanc de Blancs is a zero/zero Franciacorta and an absolute stunner. It is naturally-made by a female winemaker, Alessandra Divella. Alessandra’s precision and thoughtfulness are expressed in the wine in the form of racy acidity and clean, mineral-driven depth. Aromatics are rich with hints of baked bread, lemon zest and pine. With only 1g/L of residual sugar present in the bottle, the wine is racy and full on the palate, with notes of brioche.
Estate History: At just twenty-nine-years old, Alessandra Divella is making waves (and great wine!) quickly finding her way to crafting wines that speak to Champagne but with an Italian flair. Her two hectares of organic vines in Franciacorta, Lombardia’s sparkling wine region, are teeming with life (think: rosehips and praying mantises). Grapes are hand harvested and gently pressed. The bubbles are fine, the nose elegant with hints of baked bread, and the finish austere and mineral driven.
