Tasting Notes: Sparkling wine produced with second fermentation in bottle according to the SoloUva Method, using only grape juice without addition of exogenous sugar. 90% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Blanc aged 31 months on the lees in bottle.Powerful on the nose with golden apple, ripe peach, citrus fruit and white flowers, with chalky minerality, layers of floral notes and a pronounced toasty note. Medium bodied with nice savory texture and crisp acidity. Nice perlage with citrus tones and a light bitter note in the final.
Estate History: Arcari + Danesi was founded in 2006 by Giovanni Arcari and Nico Danesi. The winery is located in the municipality of Coccaglio and is carved into the rock of the south side of Montorfano, the geological feature that defines the southern border of Franciacorta.
Arcari + Danesi have approximately five hectares under vine, the majority of which are planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a small percentage of Pinot Blanc. These vineyards are located in the district of Coccaglio, with terraced vineyards near the winery, and in Capriolo.
A Franciacorta version of grower’s Champagne: absolutely all of the juice used for the secondary fermentation is from the grapes themselves. A very special treat. -Jamie Gump
