Tasting Notes: Cirsium is from a single parcel of Cesanese di Affile vines planted in red volcanic soils in 1953. Silky and elegant on the palate, loaded with aromatic charm in the glass, this exotic red is a complete knockout. Pine, orange, and lavender are just a few of the heady aromas. The tension of purple fruit, super-fine tannins, a hint of salinity and a mellow acidity add pleasurable presence in the mouth. A stunning example of the potential of Cesanese.
