Tasting Notes: Luca and Elena have long been deeply committed to Barbera d’Alba, being early advocates of its potential. They firmly believe in its ability to showcase the essence of the Langhe to a broad audience. The Carrà vineyard, situated in the San Sebastiano area of Monforte, boasts exceptional natural biodiversity. Grapes primarily come from two parcels—one planted in 1965 and another in 2000. The wine undergoes partial whole cluster fermentation and is aged in large botti, resulting in a rich and concentrated expression that avoids excessive ripeness.
Estate History: Cascina Penna-Currado is the new personal project of the Penna-Currado Vietti family, led by Elena Penna, Luca Currado Vietti, and their children, Michele and Giulia. As custodians of a rich cultural and sentimental heritage in the Langhe, Luca and Elena spent over 35 years leading the renowned Vietti winery until they decided to start a new chapter in January 2023. Their new, smaller-scale, artisanal venture is a family effort, combining their wit, wisdom, and renewed ambition, deeply rooted in their extensive experience in the Langhe.
