Tasting Notes: The Tre Monti Dalbana Metodo Ancestrale offers a vibrant and naturally cloudy appearance, indicative of its production method. On the nose, it presents a delicate bouquet of fresh white fruits and subtle notes of yeast and bread crust, derived from the time spent on its lees. The palate is crisp, dry, and refreshingly effervescent, showcasing bright acidity that highlights flavors of green apple, citrus, and a hint of salinity. The wine has a light, persistent perlage and a clean, zesty finish, making it a highly quaffable and food-friendly natural sparkling wine.
Estate History: Tre Monti was founded in the early 1970s by Sergio and Thea Navacchia in the hills of Imola, Emilia-Romagna. The couple were pioneers in the region, focusing on quality wine production from native grape varieties like Albana and Sangiovese, a revolutionary approach at the time. The passing of Thea in 1989 was a turning point for their sons, Vittorio and David, who then decided to dedicate their lives to winemaking, transforming the initial passion project into their life's work. Over the years, the winery has collaborated with esteemed Italian enologists and has consistently pursued a philosophy of minimal intervention and sustainable viticulture, ultimately achieving organic certification in 2014. Today, the family continues to run the estate, which spans approximately 55 hectares across two locations in Imola and Forlì, combining ancient traditions with modern techniques.
