Tasting Notes: The Polvanera Primitivo 17 (the 17 is for the average abv of the wine) is a powerhouse example of Primitivo, dark and rich, explosive and unforgettable.
Estate History: In 2002, the Polvanera winery was founded by owner and winemaker Filippo Cassano. Focusing exclusively on native Puglian grapes, the winery uses modern techniques to produce wines that showcase classic flavors of the grapes and land. Vines are farmed organically, fermentations are carried out only in steel tanks, barrels are never used. Using only steel and bottle for aging vessels allow the wines to retain the character of their terroir without the manipulation or oxidation that oak can impart.
