Estate History: The spirit of the Pelissero winery is of the timeless traditions of the Langhe Farmer. Where the pursuit of continuously improving in the vineyard and the cellar is ever present. The Pelissero’s are a family of third-generation vine growers with a philosophy that has not changed since 1957. They primarily cultivate the native varieties of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, which make up 85% of their production. Their estate is situated between the medieval tower of Barbaresco and the castle of Guarene. Pelissero is comprised of five vineyards situated near the town of Alba: Vanotu, Tulin, Piani, Augenta and Munfrina. Vanotu was the first vineyard to be established by Pelissero in 1960 and sits atop a limestone-rich, south-facing slope.
