Tasting Notes: Only bottled in special vintages the Amarone is the product of Luca’s meticulous and precise work. With at least 4 years of maturation before release the Amarone displays classic notes of cocoa, black currant, fig, and subtle tones of earth and smoke. The tannins wrap around the palate yet this Amarone remains elegant and lifted by a fresh acidity that ties everything together on the finish.
Estate History: L'Arco Founder and winemaker Luca Fedrigo continues the legacy of his mentor, the renowned Amarone producer Giuseppe Quintarelli. Luca creates classic wines using Valpolicella’s traditional grape varieties, including Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara, occasionally introducing innovative elements. With vineyards located in the Classic zone near Negrar, Luca works organically and manages every aspect of production, from vineyard work to bottling, with assistance from only a small team. His artisanal approach results in wines that truly reflect the character of the region, showcasing the careful stewardship and meticulous attention to detail that only he can provide.
The estate is named after a stone arch known as the "Arco di Giove," which is prominently visible on the road to Negrar, one of the seven historic Valpolicella counties. It is located near the farmhouse where the Fedrigo family lived until a few years ago. Dating back to the 1500s or 1600s, the arch was part of a series of seven arches along a hillside path near S. Vito di Negrar. For Luca Fedrigo, this name evokes memories of the past, which he has sought to carry forward into the wines he produces. Luca has spent many years working in a prestigious Valpolicella winery, and with his experience and gratitude, he has established a young but deeply rooted winery, dynamic and firmly grounded, offering wines that are unique in their origin while preserving Valpolicella's rich traditions.
