Tasting Notes: The Franco Terpin Jakot (Tokay spelled backwards) is from estate-grown Friuliano grapes. A deep amber in the glass after 10 days of skin-contact, the palate is bright with beeswax, apricot, and a striking mineral presence. On the nose hints of chestnut honey, curry, saffron and sweet paprika all swirl seductively.
Estate History: Franco Terpin founded his estate in San Floriano del Collio of Friuli in 1994. Today the farm stretches across twelve hectares of wine production. Franco grows Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano (Jakot), Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc. Franco's wines reflect his way of linking nature, vineyard, and winemaking. Everything is connected to seasonality, without forcing, allowing the wines to express place.
