Tasting Notes: The Cieck Erbaluce di Caluso Spumante Calliope is the reserve sparkling wine created following the celebration of the poet Guido Gozzano in the Castle of Aglié in the mid-1990s. In France, the winemakers had seen that the great Champagne houses used wood to lend elegance to their most prestigious reserves. So part of the grapes ferment in small oak barrels and spend nine months on noble lees in the barrel. Notes of apple and vanilla, fine bubbles and a tense richness.
