Tasting Notes: The Cantine Giuseppe Apicella Piedirosso is 100% Piedirosso, providing a bright ruby color that you can see through when you hold it up to the light. Unfiltered and from Pre-Phylloxera vines, it is less juicy than it is delicate. It offers a pleasant range of aromas, from violet flowers to pomegranate.
Estate History: Since 1977, Giuseppe Apicelli and his family have been producing wine in Tramonti, right in the heart of the Amalfi Coast. Yet while the family may seem “newer” to winemaking than others, their vines have been present since the 900s. The ‘cantine’ is located in the protected natural area of Monti Lattari, and makes up about seven hectares. Thanks to the fact that the vineyards are on a steep slope at 300-600 meters above sea level, their grapes are heavily exposed to good sunlight and warmth. Giuseppe is dedicated to sustainable farming, which enables him to make a collection of beautifully young and fresh wines.
