Oltrepò, which translates to “on the other side of the Po,” is a hilly stretch of land that crosses the province of Pavia from West to East. The Oltrepò Pavese Consortium was established in 1977 as an evolution of the existing Oltrepò Pavese Hills Consortium. The  Consortium protects and promotes an area that includes 13,500 hectares of vineyards, one of the largest areas in Italy, the third production area in the world of ​​Pinot Nero. The territory boasts a millenary and noble history and excellent microclimates for grape growing.
