Tasting Notes: Since Salvatore Molettieri’s first bottling in 1988, his estate has quietly risen to take its place among Taurasi’s finest. The Molettieri family farms thirteen hectares of vines in Montemarano, one of Taurasi’s most prized crus. With 550 meters of elevation, Aglianico ripened here has the potential to age for decades. To further his wines’ aging potential, Molettieri matures even their entry Taurasi for nearly four years in barrel. The 2007 vintage has incredible muscle behind it. Expect cassis, preserved black cherry, savory spices, tobacco, and mocha.
