Tasting Notes: The Pantaleone Passerina Chicca has a delicate straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. Aromas of jasmine, acacia flowers, apple and banana fill the glass. Tropical hints of pineapple and a finish of passion fruit and almond.
Estate History: Since 2005 Francesca and Federica run the 13 hectares organic Pantaleone farm in Colonnata Alta, Southern Marche, just outside of Ascoli, one of Italy's most beautiful and yet undiscovered towns. The landscape is surprisingly mountainous, it feels almost Northern, an amphitheater of steep vineyards planted on mostly clay soil with great thermal excursion between day and night. The main focus of the winery is the two indigenous white grapes of this area, Pecorino and Passerina that have been known to reach unusual structure and complexity in this area.
