Estate History: The Marengo estate was founded by the Marengo family back in 1899. Today Marco Marengo, alongside his wife Jenny and their son Stefano, who is a skilled wine technician, effectively manages the estate. Despite its relatively small size, spanning only 6 hectares, the vineyard boasts significant parcels, including 1.2 hectares in Le Brunate, a prestigious grand cru of La Morra, and 1 hectare in Bricco delle Viole, a prominent cru in the village Barolo. These vineyards have been in the Marengo family for five generations. The inaugural vintage of Barolo bearing the Le Brunate label dates back to 1974, while Barolo Bricco Viole was first labeled as such in 1997. Marco possesses an exceptional palate, offering memorable tastings straight from the barrels. Initially he hosted within the cozy confines of his old cellar in La Morra; now his tastings are in the recently constructed cellar, operational since the 2011 vintage. Marco's philosophy prioritizes honoring the natural qualities bestowed by the vineyards, valuing solid vineyard work over cellar practices.
