Tasting Notes: The Vizzarro Riserva is loaded with notes of orange peel, black raspberry, thyme, and ripe plum. This is a fuller bodied Montepulciano that is well structured and reveals hints of earth.

Estate History: Azienda Agricola Barone Cornacchia is located within the province of Teramo, Abruzzo and is noted as one of the earliest farms to take shape in the area. As early as the 16th century, the viceroy of Naples gifted this land to a descendant of the Cornacchia family, and it has since been passed down through the generations. Barone Filippo Maria Vizzarro Cornacchia (1872-1944) played a pivotal role in restoration and viticulture in Abruzzo after the infestation of Phylloxera. He began replanting ancient clones and grafting vineyards using American rootstocks. He later passed the estate down to his son Piero Cornacchia, who made the shift in farming styles towards organic and natural practices. The farm is now owned and operated by the children of Piero, Caterina, and Filippo Cornacchia, who take on separate roles in the estate. Caterina obtained a degree in business economics and is the face of the farm across international waters. Filippo works diligently back at the farm employing the traditional methods of cultivation taught by his father and grandfather.
