Tasting Notes: The I Cacciagalli is a blend of 50 % Pallagrello Nero, 25% Piedirosso and
25% Aglianico. Rosso Mille is laced with notes of black and blueberry fruit, tobacco leaf, and herbs. Subtle tannins but persistent, and compliment the finish.
Estate History: I Cacciagalli is located in the sunny hills of Campania within the Province of Caserta, just north of Naples. The I Cacciagalli name dates to the 1600s and was given by historical local mappers who were indicating an infamous "rooster battle" took place where the farm sits. The farm consists of 25 acres of land, but only 6 are dedicated to vines and rests at the foot of an inactive volcano. The family is known for the production of grapes that are lesser-known to those outside of the local area, such as Pallagrello Nero. I Cacciagalli uses organic and biodynamic farming practices to ensure authentic expressions of their native grape varietals.
