Tasting Notes: Bright ruby red in color, this medium-bodied Sangiovese opens with an intense, earthy bouquet of ripe black cherries, plums, and dried blackberries, complemented by subtle nuances of liquorice and smoked cedar. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious and robust fruit profile balanced by a fresh streak of vibrancy and structural clarity. The finish is persistent and refined, marked by a pleasantly palpable tannic texture that leaves a clean, refreshing impression.
Estate History: Cantina Fornacina was founded in 1981 by Ruggero Biliorsi and is currently managed by his sons, Simon and Mauro, who maintain the family's dedication to traditional Tuscan winemaking. Located in the heart of Montalcino, the estate spans five hectares of vineyards that achieved full organic certification in 2004. By utilizing temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation and patient aging in traditional Slavonian oak barrels, the family continues to craft authentic expressions of the region's terroir.
