Tasting Notes: The cuvée is created with a meticulous blend of crus situated at an average altitude of 500 meters, which guarantee a fresh and fruit-forward sparkling wine. A minimum maturing period of 30 months conveys perfect aromatic complexity. The color is straw yellow with green highlights. The perfume is reminiscent of honey, white peaches, grapefruit and basil. The wine has a savory feel in the mouth, with a persistent sparkle and a sweet, lingering finish.
Estate History: Among the splendid rolling hills of the Langhe, in the heart of Piedmont, stands the beautiful Fontanafredda estate, which once belonged to King Vittorio Emanuele II who n turn gave it to Rosa Vercellana, a commoner with whom he had fallen madly in love. An ancient love story, kept alive by the modern Fontanafredda team, with particular attention to that desire to renew and improve that which has always distinguished the company, now a point of reference in the Langa area. Here, indeed the passion for wine, for the land and for tradition finds its most concrete expression.
