Tasting Notes: Rose di Adele is organic Nerello Mascalese from Sicily. The color is a light pink “onion skin,” with copper edges. Notes of pink rose petal and violets combine with aromas of black pepper, blackberries, pomegranate, and strawberries. On the palate, it has a pleasant brightness, a good structure, is fresh, persistent, and sapid.
Estate History: The history of Feudo Montoni dates back to 1469, when the baglio (a traditional Sicilian courtyard structure that now serves as the winery's cellar) was first constructed. The Sireci family's connection to the estate began in the late 1800s when Rosario Sireci purchased the property and its ancient, pre-phylloxera vines. His grandson, Fabio Sireci, is the current custodian, representing the third generation to run the certified organic winery. Fabio, along with his partner Melissa Muller, continues the family philosophy of "preserving nature's copyright" by focusing on indigenous grape varieties and traditional winemaking methods to express the unique, high-altitude Sicilian terroir.
