Tasting Notes: The A. Bergère Brut Origine presents a radiant hue with fine, lively bubbles, offering delicate aromas of white peach and nectarine alongside classic notes of brioche, toasted almond, and subtle hints of graham cracker. On the palate, it is creamy and well-structured, delivering flavors of golden apple, pear, and vibrant citrus, all balanced by a distinct chalky minerality and refreshing acidity. The finish is clean, long, and harmonious, highlighting the elegance of its Chardonnay-dominant blend.
Estate History: The Bergère family has been cultivating vines in the Vallée du Petit Morin since 1848. The A. Bergère brand was officially founded in 1949 by Albert Bergère, who began producing and marketing his own Champagne from the family vineyards. His son, André, took over the estate in 1986 and expanded the vineyard holdings with his wife Brigitte. The adventure continues today with their children, Annaëlle and Adrien, the latter of whom joined as a trained oenologist in 2014 and introduced modern techniques like individual plot vinification and the use of oak barrels to further enhance the terroir's expression. The estate remains a family-run grower operation rooted in tradition but embracing innovation.
