Tasting Notes: The Cantina Chiacchiera Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a blend of 90% Sangiovese, with 10% of Mammolo, Ciliegiolo, and Canaiolo. The vineyard is perched on 50 to 400 meter, south-west sun exposed hills. The grapes are plucked from 15 to 40 year old vines grown from a stony clay soil. The skins are macerating for 15-20 days in concrete tanks. The grapes are then put through malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks then an additional 18 months in cask. The wine is finished in bottle for an additional 6 months. Vino Nobile brings a beautiful versatility of light tannin and cleansing acidity. On the palate notes of earthy mushroom, dark cherries, and a hint of bitter dark chocolate reign supreme.
Estate History: The Chiacchiera winery was founded in 2010 by the family of Emanuela Mancianti. Located in the hills of Montepulciano in the locality of Cervognano, this area, southeast of Montepulciano, is among the most suitable for the production of wine in Tuscany.
