Tasting Notes: Vinoso is a varietal Grechetto white wine that ferments with indigenous yeasts, and matures on the lees for three years. Straw-yellow in color, it has a complex aromatic profile, with hints of ripe fruit, peaches, tropical fruit, mangoes, and ginger. The palate has tension and a great push and pull of orchard fruit with a hint of kiwi. Dry, fresh and persistent, it has natural softness and good structure, enveloping, with a slightly almond finish. Totally unique, this is unlike any white coming out of Umbria today.
Estate History: Luigi and Giovanna Barberani began making wine in 1961 near Lake Corbara in Umbria. Now in the capable hands of Luigi’s son Niccolò are 55 hectares of organic vineyards producing a range of unique, classic, and unmatched Umbrian wines. Fully organic since the 1980’s, long before it was fashionable, Barberani has always sought out a unique approach to making wine.
