Tasting Notes: The Le Fraghe Traccia di Rose has a pale cherry pink color, with light coppery reflections. The slight veiling that shows when waving the bottle is represented by the fermentation yeast that rests inside the bottle. Fruity notes of plum, yellow peach, and apricot on the nose. These fruity notes gradually disappear with aging, allowing notes of candied orange and saffron to develop. On the palate, fresh and firm acidity, with a sapid, persistent, and elegant final note.
Estate History: Matilde Poggi has been making elegant wines in Veneto since 1984. She grew up around her family's vines and when the estate was split up in the 1980’s she took her land and instead of continuing to sell the grapes to other growers, began making her own wines in Bardolino on the southern shores of Lake Garda. Certified organic since 2009, Matilde is also a part of the FIVI brand, the federation group representing Italian Independent Winegrowers that work solely on their own production: they grow their vines, they vinify their grapes, they bottle their wines which they sell directly.
